Causability.fund Overview

Do you have a project or cause that you are passionate about?  Do you need some funding to achieve your goals and dreams?  Causability.fund is here to help.  This unique platform enables cause-based initiatives to succeed.

The process of setting up your cause is a simple process, and with Causability.fund, you can easily accept and track donations to support your project.

Before you Begin

Before you begin registering your cause, there are a few things you should prepare in advance.  Gather photos, videos, and other graphics that will help your audience understand your cause.  Plan your fundraising campaign, such as establishing a target goal, writing a description of your cause and why support is needed, and draft the communications you’d like to send to your supporters.  Finally, make sure you have an active Stripe account; if not, create one since this is the platform Causability has partnered with to process your contributions.  Now you’re ready to begin!

Visit Causability.fund and click on Create a Cause.  If you’ve previously registered with us, simply log in.  If you’re new to working with Causability, please sign up.

Once you’ve signed in to your account, click on ‘New Cause’ from the menu in the left sidebar.  If this is your first cause, link your Stripe account to your Causability account and then click on ‘Create a Cause’.  Get ready to begin describing your cause, vision, and goals!

The Basics

Now it’s time to start with ‘the basics’!

Enter your campaign name and upload a cover image.  Make sure your name and image are descriptive of your campaign, as well as engaging and interesting.  Select the most relevant category for your campaign and indicate the location of your project or cause.

Does your campaign have a funding goal you’d like to reach?  If so, indicate that goal so your donors can cheer you on as you get closer!  Are you going to offer perks to your supporters?  You can find additional information on perks, the benefits of including them, and how to set them up HERE.

When would you like your campaign to begin?  Indicate that next, and if there is an ending date, be sure to include that as well.

Is your campaign in memory of anyone or anything?  Be sure to let your donors know!

Next, you can enter a personal message to your supporters to display before they submit their donation.  This is an important piece of the puzzle since it is your way to communicate with your audience in your voice.  Let your supporters know exactly how their contribution will be spent to further your cause, the importance of their donation, and how through their generosity, they are helping to improve their community.  Be passionate, but clear, concise, and direct in your messaging.  Once you’ve completed your message, indicate whether your donors should be required to read it prior to submitting their contribution.

Accept the terms and conditions, and step one is complete!

Look and Feel

The next step in the process is to give your cause its ‘look and feel.’  First, provide a headline for your campaign.  Make this short but descriptive so your supporters will understand the scope of your cause.

Next, write a brief, relatable, and interesting description of your campaign.  Be sure to be engaging so your readers will really understand your project and understand the importance of your mission.  An effective way to show your audience how significant your cause is, add a photo, a photo gallery, or a video.

Causability.fund offers several methods for communicating the progress and success of your campaign to your donors.  Indicate whether you’d like to display the amount raised, a countdown timer, comments from your donors, or any of the other matrices we offer.

Thanking your donors is one of the most important elements of a successful campaign.  Causability.fund will send an acknowledgement email to your supporters, so your next step is to craft that message.  Enter your subject line and your note.  Be sure to thank them for their generosity and support, and reiterate how their contribution will be spent to further the mission of your cause.

Scholarship Rules

These scholarships are prohibited and if used, violate Causability’s terms of service. Your cause will be automatically be deleted from the platform.

  1. Any item claiming to diagnose, cure, treat, or prevent an illness or condition (whether via a device, app, book, nutritional supplement, or other means).
  2. Contests, coupons, gambling, and raffles.
  3. Energy food, vitamins or health supplements and drinks.
  4. Offensive material (e.g., hate speech, encouraging violence against others, etc).
  5. Offering a genetically modified organism as a perk.
  6. Live animals. Perks cannot include live animals.
  7. Offering alcohol.
  8. Offering financial, money-processing, or credit services; financial intermediaries or cash-equivalent instruments; travel services (e.g., vacation packages); phone services (e.g., prepaid phone services, 900 numbers); and business marketing services.
  9. Political fundraising.
  10. Any nudity, graphic displays of body parts or pornographic material.
  11. Perks that promote discrimination, bigotry, or intolerance towards any and all marginalized groups.
  12. Perks that share things that already exist, or repackage a previously-created product, without adding anything new or aiming to iterate on the idea in any way.
  13. Resale. All perks must have been produced or designed by the project or one of its creators — no reselling things from elsewhere.
  14. Drugs, nicotine, tobacco, vaporizers and related paraphernalia.
  15. Violent materials such as images of weapons, replicas of weapons, and weapon accessories.
  16. Any perks that are deemed illegal, heavily regulated, or potentially dangerous for donors, as well as perks that the creator did not make.
  17. Previously copyrighted materials from any and all forms of literature, art or music.

    Causability prohibits all ‘cause based campaigns’ that are illegal, heavily regulated, or potentially dangerous for (users) donors, as well as any offered ‘perks’ (donation incentives) that the ‘creator’ did not make either physically or offered as digital downloads.

    4. Offensive material (e.g., hate speech, encouraging violence against others, etc.)

    13. No resale. All ‘perks’ (donation incentives) must have been produced or designed by the project or one of its creators — no reselling things from others or elsewhere.
    14. Drugs, nicotine, tobacco, vaporizers, and related paraphernalia.
    15. Weapons, replicas of weapons, and weapon accessories.
    If your project involves something illegal, heavily regulated, or potentially dangerous for backers and it is not on this list, please contact us before starting your campaign.
